LAST YEAR RECAP:

At our inaugural event last year, over 60 adults AND their partners and children came out to try skateboarding, most for the very first time. Adults got the opportunity to be the star of the show, to push past their fears, and to live their best lives. The event was lighthearted, fun, spirited and uplifting. Their families were encouraging and engaged. Vendor Tables were busy and sponsors had a chance to connect with both the skaters and their families.

Adults came in uncertain and scared and left self-assured and confident. 60 plus adults with full hearts and souls. Many of those beginner skaters have become part of the family and continue to skate with Aunty Skates!

Oorbee Roy (she/her), is a Toronto-based mom, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, content creator, and adult skateboarder She’s the cool mom who started skateboarding at the age of 43 so she could spend more time with her kids.

Oorbee is on a mission to spread joy and positivity by sharing her skateboarding journey and the way it’s transformed her life, on social media. Her mission is simple: to remind you go out there and live your best life, it’s never too late!
